Re: Where in Florida

I'll tell you a little story about some of these condo complexs. In Hilton Head one year, Security was called on a small group (4)of us sixtysomethings for playing a radio, drinking beer (not me) O:-) , standing around watching the grandchildren, shooting the bull at the pool. We had to leave the ar...

Re: Where in Florida

UMMMM! 55+ community, never really thought much about that. We do fall well into that category by several years. :)) Different 55+ communities have different rules I am sure, but do they permit say a very young granddaughter live there as well. Unfortunately that has been a continuing issue with win...

Re: Where in Florida

I am going to throw another question out there for members who may be familiar with the Cape Coral/ Ft. Myers area. What is the area really like to live in as for as crime, neighboroods that are better or nicer than others etc. I have found that property is somewhat more reasonable there than other ...

Re: At the Social Security Office

It is actually the Windfall Elimination Provision. Before 1983 it was possible to get a pension from a job that did not pay into system and have SS benefits calculated as if they were long term ,low wage workers. So now SS uses what is called the Government Pension Offset to rip off people such as m...

Not only will she not get anthing from SS based on her contributions because 2/3s of her teacher pension exceeds the amont she would get from SS, she will get very little if any from my SS check if I kick the bucket. 2/3s of her pension would be deducted from...

Trying not to be judgemental, but from appearances, I get a gut feeling that most have not paid into the system nor will anytime soon. IMO L-) L-)

At the Social Security Office

Posted this on the other forum, but did not seem to rattle too many cages. The wife wanted to stop in the SS office this morning to ask a question about her possible Social Security. The place was packed. Mostly with maybe twentysomething people, pregnant , or towing young children, with perhaps mat...

Quickie in the Bushes.

Quickie in the Bushes. There are two statues in a park; One of a nude man and one of a nude woman. They had been facing each other across a path way for a hundred years, when one day an angel comes down from the sky and, with a single gesture, brings the two to life. The angel tells them, 'As a rewa...

Re: China's "SUPREME" leader......

What kind of makes me worry about all the high tech stuff being sent to China is what my older brothers said about all the resources provided to Japan that we received back at Pearl Harbor. X( Japan was not a country that had the resouces needed to wage war. So where did they come from?

My Resume

Subject: My Resume: 1. My first job was working in an Orange Juice factory, but I got canned. Couldn’t concentrate! 2. Then I worked in the woods as a Lumberjack, but just couldn’t hack it, so they gave me the axe. 3. After that, I tried being a Tailor, but wasn’t suited for it -- mainly because it ...

Just around the corner?????

By Arnold Ahlert Wednesday, November 24, 2010 "Winston, come into the dining room, it's time to eat," Julia yelled to her husband. "In a minute, honey, it's a tie score," he answered. Actually Winston wasn't very interested in the traditional holiday football game between Detroit and Washington . Ev...
